Gary Winick's 2004 romantic fantasy comedy follows Jenna Rink, who after a humiliating thirteenth birthday party wishes she could skip straight to being thirty. A sprinkle of magic wishing dust grants exactly that: she wakes with a glamorous body, an enviable wardrobe, an athlete boyfriend, a dream magazine job and famous friends. Yet the grown-up life she longed for proves far messier than the fantasy, and Jenna slowly realizes what — and who — she left behind. It's a sweet, nostalgic body-swap comedy about growing up and staying true to yourself. It suits viewers who enjoy lighthearted, warmhearted romantic comedies with a wish-fulfillment premise and an early-2000s pop sensibility.
