Our take on 28 Weeks Later
Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's sequel picks up as the British Isles, emptied by a deadly rage virus, are cautiously reopened. Six months on, a group of Americans arrives believing the danger has passed, only to discover the contagion is far from finished and ready to strike again. This 2007 horror-thriller trades intimacy for scale, delivering panicked crowds, ruthless containment, and grim reflections on how quickly safety collapses. It rewards viewers who like fast, unsentimental infection horror where survival is never guaranteed and moral lines blur under pressure. Expect relentless momentum and bleak intensity rather than comfort; those wanting cozy resolution should look elsewhere, but genre fans will find plenty of dread.
