About Alien³

After escaping with Newt and Hicks from the alien planet, Ripley crash lands on Fiorina 161, a prison planet and host to a correctional facility. The prison does not allow weapons of any kind, and with aid being a long time away, the prisoners must simply survive in any way they can.

Our take on Alien³

David Fincher's 1992 entry in the sci-fi horror saga finds Ripley crash-landing on Fiorina 161, a bleak prison planet housing a correctional facility, after escaping the alien world. Newt and Hicks do not survive the crash, but an unwelcome passenger does. With no weapons permitted and rescue far off, the inmates must simply endure, hunted by a relentless predator. Fincher trades open combat for oppressive dread, grim industrial spaces and a bleaker, more fatalistic mood than its predecessors. Fans of atmospheric, despairing horror and the wider saga will find much to chew on; those wanting the action of earlier chapters may feel it grim. Best for viewers drawn to darkness and mood.
