Jay Roach's 2002 comedy sends the swinging superspy back into battle against Dr. Evil, who this time joins forces with his clone Mini-Me and a '70s crime kingpin named Goldmember in yet another bid for world domination. Chasing the villains, Austin gets a hand from his own father and a former flame. This is broad, gag-packed spy spoof built on innuendo, pop-culture riffs and unashamedly silly set pieces rather than plot. It plays best for fans of the series and anyone in the mood for goofy, low-stakes farce. Newcomers or viewers who prefer subtle wit may find it exhausting, but its target audience knows exactly what it's getting.
