Jay Roach's second Austin Powers outing sends the groovy superspy back to the swingin' '60s after Dr. Evil travels through time to steal Austin's 'mojo.' With American agent Felicity Shagwell at his side, Austin squares off against Dr. Evil's army of minions to foil the scheme in his own unbelievably shagadelic fashion. It's broad spy-spoof comedy built on running gags, retro pastiche and gleeful silliness rather than plot logic. Fans of the first film and lovers of gag-a-minute parody will feel right at home. Viewers who prefer subtlety or a coherent story may find its crude, cartoonish humor exhausting, but it commits fully to its ridiculous fun.
