Our take on Bolt

This 2008 Disney adventure follows Bolt, a television star so immersed in his heroic show that he believes his powers are real. Accidentally shipped from Hollywood to New York and separated from his co-star and owner Penny, he sets off on a cross-country trek, gradually learning the difference between staged heroics and genuine loyalty. Directed by Chris Williams, it's a bright, good-natured family film built around a classic lost-pet journey and gentle jokes about celebrity and make-believe. Younger viewers get the friendly animal comedy; parents get a warm undercurrent about identity and what actually matters. A comfortable, well-paced choice for a family movie night with broad appeal.
