Our take on Cars
John Lasseter's 2006 Pixar adventure follows Lightning McQueen, a cocky rookie race car built to win, who gets unexpectedly detoured into the sleepy Route 66 town of Radiator Springs while speeding toward the Piston Cup showdown in California. Among its offbeat residents he starts to learn that life is about the journey, not the finish line. Bright, warmhearted animation-comedy for the whole family, it pairs racing energy with a gentle, slow-down message and a nostalgic love of small-town America. Best for younger viewers and anyone charmed by anthropomorphic vehicles and a soft moral arc, rather than those chasing edgy or fast-cut storytelling.
