About Die Hard 2
One year after his heroics in Los Angeles, John McClane is an off-duty cop who is the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. On a snowy Christmas Eve, as he waits for his wife's plane to land at Washington Dulles International Airport, terrorists take over the air traffic control system in a plot to free a South American army general and drug smuggler being flown into the US to face drug charges. It's now up to McClane to take on the terrorists, while coping with an inept airport police chief, an uncooperative anti-terrorist squad, and the life of his wife and everyone else trapped in planes circling overhead.

Our take on Die Hard 2
A year after Los Angeles, John McClane finds himself once again the wrong man in the wrong place, this time snowbound at Washington's Dulles airport on Christmas Eve when terrorists seize the air-traffic system to spring a captured drug-running general. Renny Harlin scales the original's cat-and-mouse formula up to airport size, swapping a single tower for runways, control rooms and circling planes while McClane battles bureaucrats as much as gunmen. It delivers exactly what its predecessor's fans want: a wisecracking everyman hero, escalating set pieces and a wintry holiday backdrop. Best taken as an unpretentious, bigger-and-louder action sequel that trades intimacy for spectacle without apology.
