About Dracula Untold

Vlad Tepes is a great hero, but when he learns the Sultan is preparing for battle and needs to form an army of 1,000 boys, he vows to find a way to protect his family. Vlad turns to dark forces in order to get the power to destroy his enemies and agrees to go from hero to monster as he's turned into the mythological vampire, Dracula.

Gary Shore's 2014 action-fantasy reimagines the origin of Dracula as a tragic bargain. Vlad Tepes is a celebrated hero, but when he learns the Sultan is amassing an army and demands a thousand boys, he vows to protect his family and people at any cost. To gain the power to destroy his enemies, Vlad turns to dark forces, knowingly trading his heroism for monstrousness as he is transformed into the mythic vampire. It's a somber, effects-driven spin that frames the legend through sacrifice and doomed love. Best for viewers who like gothic action, brooding antiheroes and fresh takes on classic monsters, more mournful spectacle than outright horror.
