Our take on E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

Spielberg's 1982 phenomenon befriends a stranded alien to a lonely boy, whose family hides him from the adults closing in. Tender, magical and quietly heartbreaking about childhood and belonging, it's the definitive family fantasy. If its wonder and emotion moved you, seek out heartfelt family adventures and coming-of-age fantasies where the extraordinary visits ordinary suburban life.
