Our take on Frozen
Disney's 2013 animated adventure, co-directed by Chris Buck, reshaped the studio's fairy-tale formula around two sisters instead of a conventional romance. Princess Anna of Arendelle sets off across a kingdom locked in eternal winter to reach her estranged sister Elsa, joined by ice deliveryman Kristoff, his reindeer Sven and the cheerful snowman Olaf. Along the way she learns what friendship, courage, family and true love really mean. A fantasy built for the whole family, it balances comic sidekicks and big musical set-pieces with a warmer message about self-acceptance and sibling bonds. It suits younger viewers and anyone happy to be swept along by bright, songful spectacle.
