Our take on Game Night
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein's 2018 comedy turns a suburban couple's weekly game night into something genuinely dangerous. When Max's slick brother Brooks stages a murder-mystery party with fake thugs and phony federal agents, a real kidnapping unfolds under cover of the game, and the competitive friends charge in assuming it's all part of the fun. Each twist tips the night further off the rails. It's a crime-comedy that plays its mystery seriously enough to keep you guessing while mining big laughs from oblivious contestants. A smart pick for a group looking for something sharper and more plotted than the usual studio comedy.
