About Get Out

Chris and his girlfriend Rose go upstate to visit her parents for the weekend. At first, Chris reads the family's overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he never could have imagined.

Jordan Peele's 2017 debut turns a weekend meeting the parents into slow-burning dread. Chris visits his girlfriend Rose's family and reads their strained politeness as awkwardness around an interracial relationship, until small unsettling details accumulate into something far darker. Working across horror, mystery and thriller, Peele builds tension through observation rather than shock, letting discomfort curdle scene by scene.
