Our take on Hulk

Ang Lee's 2003 take on the Marvel figure is an unusually thoughtful comic-book film, more interested in trauma and repression than in wall-to-wall action. Bruce Banner, a genetics researcher scarred by a painful past, absorbs a massive dose of radiation and begins transforming into a raging green giant whenever anger takes hold. Lee treats that rage as a psychological wound, framing the story with comic-panel edits and a somber, brooding tone. It rewards viewers open to a slower, more introspective superhero movie built on father-son tension and inner turmoil rather than spectacle alone. Those expecting nonstop mayhem may find it heavy, but its ambition is genuine.
