About Inglourious Basterds

In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis. The Basterds, lead by Lt. Aldo Raine soon cross paths with a French-Jewish teenage girl who runs a movie theater in Paris which is targeted by the soldiers.

Quentin Tarantino sets this drama-thriller in Nazi-occupied France, where a squad of Jewish-American soldiers known as the Basterds, led by Lt. Aldo Raine, is chosen to spread terror through the Third Reich by hunting and brutally killing Nazis. Their path crosses that of a young French-Jewish woman who runs a Paris cinema the soldiers have targeted. It's a wartime revenge tale told in Tarantino's signature register: long, tension-loaded conversations that suddenly erupt, chapter structure, and a taste for rewriting history on his own terms. Expect vivid characters and sharp dialogue rather than sober realism. It suits viewers who like their war films stylized, talky and unapologetically violent.
