Our take on Justice League Dark: Apokolips War
This 2020 animated film caps the DC animated universe with a grim, all-out war against the tyrant Darkseid after the heroes' first assault ends in catastrophe. Brutal, emotional and unafraid to break its characters, it's a bold, bloody finale to a long saga. If its dark stakes and scale gripped you, seek out mature animated comic-book films that treat their heroes' losses as seriously as their victories.
