Jeff Wadlow escalates the comic-book vigilante brawl in this 2013 action crime sequel, where Kick-Ass's reckless bravery has inspired a wave of self-made masked crusaders. He falls in with a patrol led by Colonel Stars and Stripes, while the villain formerly known as Red Mist reinvents himself as a costumed menace, leaving the deadly Hit-Girl as the last line of defense. It's loud, profane and gleefully over-the-top, pushing its superhero satire into blunter, bloodier territory. Best for viewers who liked the first film's mix of crude comedy and brutal action and don't mind the volume turned up. Come knowing exactly how tasteless and energetic it intends to be.
