About Lucky Number Slevin

Paul McGuigan's 2006 crime comedy drops the hapless Slevin into the crossfire of a war between the city's two biggest crime bosses, mistaken for someone else and kept under constant watch. With a notorious assassin circling and the mystery deepening at every turn, Slevin has to scheme his way out of a bind he never chose. McGuigan leans into stylised dialogue, sharp reversals and a puzzle-box structure that keeps its cards close, blending comedy, crime and drama into something knowingly slick. It suits viewers who relish twisty, talky thrillers where nothing is quite what it seems and the fun lies in the assembly. Playful, cynical and cleverly plotted.
