Our take on Me, Myself & Irene

Peter Farrelly's 2000 comedy centers on Rhode Island State Trooper Charlie Baileygates, who develops a multiple personality disorder: one self is gentle and easygoing, the other crazed and aggressive. When he loses his medication, both personalities fall for the same woman, Irene. It's a broad, gleefully crude farce in the Farrelly mold, built around a game dual performance and the collision of Charlie's warring selves. It suits viewers who enjoy outrageous, no-limits slapstick and don't mind humor that pushes into bad taste. Those who prefer gentler or more grounded comedy will likely find it too much, but fans of anarchic gross-out laughs know exactly what they're signing up for.
