Our take on Megamind

Tom McGrath's 2010 animated comedy turns superhero convention inside out: after the brilliant alien supervillain Megamind finally defeats his lifelong nemesis Metro Man, he finds victory strangely hollow. To restore purpose, he engineers a brand-new hero to battle—only for that creation to become an even worse menace than Megamind himself, forcing the reformed villain to save the city. Bright, fast and playful, it mixes big action-comedy set pieces with a genuinely sweet arc about identity and choosing who you want to be. Ideal for families and animation fans who enjoy superhero spoofs with heart, it rewards viewers who like their laughs paired with an underdog's redemption.
