Ilya Naishuller's 2021 action thriller centers on Hutch Mansell — a suburban dad, overlooked husband and unremarkable neighbor, a self-described nobody. When two thieves break into his home one night, a long-buried rage ignites and sends him down a brutal path that dredges up dark secrets he had tried to bury. It's a lean, propulsive genre picture built on the pleasure of an underestimated man cutting loose, staging its violence with kinetic, darkly comic energy. Fans of tightly choreographed action and everyman-turned-avenger stories will have a good time; anyone put off by graphic fighting should be warned. Best watched for adrenaline, not subtlety.
