Our take on Ocean's Twelve
Steven Soderbergh's 2004 crime caper reunites Danny Ocean's crew after their Las Vegas score, only to find casino owner Terry Benedict demanding his money back with interest. Strapped for cash, the gang scatters across Rome, Paris and Amsterdam for a fresh string of heists while a sharp Europol agent closes in. Soderbergh trades the first film's tight mechanics for a looser, more playful European jaunt built on movie-star charm, banter and stylish misdirection. Some viewers find it self-indulgent; others love exactly that relaxed, cocktail-hour glamour. If you value ensemble chemistry and cool over airtight plotting, this globe-hopping sequel is enjoyable, low-stakes company.
