About Paul
For the past 60 years, a space-traveling smart-ass named Paul has been locked up in a top-secret military base, advising world leaders about his kind. But when he worries he’s outlived his usefulness and the dissection table is drawing uncomfortably close, Paul escapes on the first RV that passes by his compound in Area 51. Fortunately, it contains the two earthlings who are most likely to rescue and harbor an alien on the run.

Our take on Paul
Greg Mottola's 2011 comedy sends two British sci-fi geeks on an American road trip that turns into an alien escape caper. Paul, a wisecracking extraterrestrial who has spent sixty years advising the military from a secret base, flees before he outlives his usefulness, hitching a ride on the pair's RV near Area 51. The result is a warm, foul-mouthed buddy comedy stuffed with affectionate genre references, aimed squarely at fans of geek culture and road movies. If you enjoy irreverent humor, an amiable animated alien and jokes that nod to decades of science fiction, this hits the spot. Come for the laughs and easygoing friendship rather than serious science-fiction stakes.
