About Planet Terror

Two doctors find their graveyard shift inundated with townspeople ravaged by sores. Among the wounded is Cherry Darling, a dancer whose leg was ripped from her body. As the invalids quickly become enraged aggressors, Cherry and her ex-boyfriend El Wray lead a team of accidental warriors into the night.

Our take on Planet Terror

Robert Rodriguez's 2007 action-horror is deliberate B-movie pastiche: grimy, gory and revved up like a lost drive-in reel. Two doctors find their night shift overrun by townspeople covered in sores, among them Cherry Darling, a dancer who loses a leg. As the wounded turn into raging aggressors, Cherry and her ex-boyfriend El Wray gather a ragtag band of survivors to fight through the night. Rodriguez leans hard into pulpy excess and mock-scratched celluloid, so the appeal is tone and attitude more than plot. Best for viewers who love grindhouse throwbacks and gleeful, over-the-top splatter, and who take the whole thing in a knowing, playful spirit.
