About Saw

Two men wake up to find themselves shackled in a grimy, abandoned bathroom. As they struggle to comprehend their predicament, they discover a disturbing tape left behind by the sadistic mastermind known as Jigsaw. James Wan's 2004 debut is a claustrophobic crime-horror-mystery that helped define a decade of dread. Two men wake shackled in a filthy, abandoned bathroom with no memory of how they got there. A tape left by the sadistic mastermind called Jigsaw lays out the rules: they must play a gruesome game to earn their freedom. Built on confinement, deduction and mounting desperation rather than constant gore, the film wrings tension from a single grim room and a ticking sense of doom. It rewards viewers who like tightly plotted, morally grim puzzle-horror, and will unsettle those who prefer their thrillers bloodless and restrained.
