About Serenity

Our take on Serenity

Joss Whedon's 2005 blend of action, adventure, science-fiction and thriller follows the renegade crew of the ship Serenity after they agree to hide a fugitive on board. That choice traps them between the relentless military might of a totalitarian regime willing to destroy anything and anyone to reclaim the girl, and the bloodthirsty creatures that roam uncharted space, with the greatest danger perhaps aboard their own vessel. It pairs frontier-flavored spaceflight with wisecracking camaraderie and real stakes. Whether or not you know the crew already, it works as a self-contained ride for viewers who like character-driven space adventure, quick banter and moral weight underneath the chases and gunfights.
