About The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Born under unusual circumstances, Benjamin Button springs into being as an elderly man in a New Orleans nursing home and ages in reverse. Twelve years after his birth, he meets Daisy, a child who flits in and out of his life as she grows up to be a dancer. Though he has all sorts of unusual adventures over the course of his life, it is his relationship with Daisy, and the hope that they will come together at the right time, that drives Benjamin forward.

Our take on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
David Fincher trades his usual menace for melancholy in this fantasy romance, following Benjamin Button, born an old man in a New Orleans nursing home and aging in reverse across a long, strange life. The film's engine is his on-and-off relationship with Daisy, a dancer who drifts through his years, and the aching question of whether two people moving in opposite directions can ever meet at the right moment. It's a slow, elegiac drama built for patient viewers who like their emotion earned and their runtime generous. Those craving Fincher's thriller edge should look elsewhere; this is his most tender, wistful work, better suited to a reflective evening than a restless one.
