Our take on The Hangover Part II

Todd Phillips's 2011 comedy sends its infamous crew to Thailand for Stu's wedding. Burned by the Las Vegas chaos of the year before, Stu insists on a tame, low-key pre-wedding brunch, but of course nothing goes to plan, and Bangkok becomes the stage for another blackout misadventure with the same unruly group. Following the template of raucous, morning-after mayhem, it doubles down on outrageous set pieces and the scramble to reconstruct a lost night. It suits viewers who liked the first film's chaotic energy and want more of the same crude, fast comedy. Best approached as broad, unapologetic entertainment rather than anything subtle.
