Our take on Thor

Kenneth Branagh's 2011 fantasy adventure introduces Thor, a mighty but arrogant warrior god who, against his father Odin's will, recklessly reignites an ancient war. Cast down to Earth as punishment, he must live among humans and learn what true heroism costs, just as his world's most dangerous villain unleashes the darkest forces of Asgard against the planet. As action, adventure and fantasy, it blends cosmic myth with fish-out-of-water humor, balancing Asgardian grandeur against Thor's very human comeuppance. The result is a lighter, more theatrical origin tale about pride giving way to worth. It suits viewers who enjoy mythic superhero stories and anyone charting the beginnings of this saga.
