Our take on Unforgiven

Clint Eastwood's 1992 western brings a retired killer out of quiet widowhood for one last bounty, in a grim, revisionist reckoning with violence and the myths the genre built. Mournful and morally complex, it's the western interrogating its own soul. If its bleak grandeur and moral weight gripped you, seek out revisionist westerns and elegiac crime dramas about the cost of the gun.
