Our take on Valkyrie

Bryan Singer's 2008 wartime thriller follows Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, a decorated German officer wounded in Africa who returns home and joins the Resistance in a plot to topple the Nazi regime. The plan is audacious: assassinate Hitler and install a shadow government amid the ensuing chaos. When circumstances push Stauffenberg to the center, he must both orchestrate the coup and carry out the killing himself. Blending drama with tightening suspense, it suits viewers drawn to history-based thrillers and morally weighted stories of conscience under tyranny. Anyone curious about the men who resisted from within, and the razor-thin margins on which their gamble turned, will find plenty here.
