Our take on Warcraft
Duncan Jones's 2016 fantasy adapts the vast Warcraft mythology, setting the peaceful realm of Azeroth against a race of orc warriors who flee their dying homeland to colonize a new one. A portal linking the two worlds turns survival into a collision course, and the film follows heroes on opposing sides whose choices decide the fate of families and peoples alike. Built around grand battle spectacle and elaborate world-building, it favors sweeping conflict and moral shading between the two factions rather than a single villain. It's aimed at viewers who relish immersive high fantasy and epic scale, and especially at those already fond of the game's universe. Ambitious, ornate and battle-driven.
