Damián Szifron's 2014 anthology weaves several standalone stories around a single idea: how ordinary people snap when injustice and everyday pressure push them past their limit. Across its comedy, drama and thriller strands, it moves from a waitress serving a loathsome loan shark to a road-rage clash, a disastrous wedding reception and a wealthy man trying to buy his family out of trouble. The tone is sharp, darkly funny and escalating, each vignette building toward some explosive release.
