Ti West's 2022 horror film sets its terror in rural Texas in 1979, where a small crew arrives to shoot an adult movie on an isolated farm. Their elderly, reclusive hosts have no idea what's happening under their roof, and when they discover it, the young cast are suddenly fighting for their lives. West works in a deliberate, period-accurate register, letting dread build through texture and unease before the violence arrives. It rewards patient horror fans who appreciate craftsmanship, grainy atmosphere and a slow-tightening grip over cheap shocks. If you like your scares steeped in mood and a strong sense of place, this is a confident, unsettling watch.
