This is procedural drama at its most exacting: a thriller built from patience, dead ends and the slow accumulation of detail rather than easy catharsis. Bigelow's cool, unsentimental eye keeps the focus on process—the interrogations, the analysis, the waiting—and trusts viewers to sit with its moral weight. It rewards those who want a serious, methodical account over a rousing war picture, and who prefer their tension coiled tight. Demanding, austere and deliberately unresolved in its emotions.
