Ruben Fleischer's 2009 horror comedy pairs the timid, rule-obsessed Columbus with the fearless Tallahassee as two unlikely survivors navigating a world overrun by zombies. Their opposite temperaments drive the humor as much as the carnage, until the film's biggest challenge turns out to be trusting each other. Fast, gory and glib in equal measure, it favors banter and character quirks over genuine dread, so it suits viewers who want their apocalypse played for laughs.
